Join the FSMH for this exciting event that offers a deep dive into the history of Freemasonry in Fort Smith, Arkansas! The Fort Smith Museum of History, in collaboration with Belle Point Lodge #20, is set to debut a new display on September 12, 2024, at 6 PM, focusing on the rich history of the Freemasons in the area. The display will cover the early beginnings of Fort Smith, particularly from the 1840s through the turn of the century, highlighting the influence of Freemasonry on the town's early leaders.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from representatives of various Masonic organizations, including the York Rite Chapter, Council, and Commandery (also known as the Knights Templar), Scottish Rite, Knights of St. Andrew, M.O.V.P.E.R. Grotto, Widow Sons, Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth, Shriners, and the youth organizations Order of DeMolay and Rainbow Girls. The Grand Master of Arkansas, Darrell Gifford, will make a special appearance, adding further significance to the event.

The program will feature educational talks on Masonic history, with a Q&A session to engage the audience and provide insights into the world of Freemasonry in Fort Smith and its frontier legacy. This is a great opportunity to support the museum while learning more about the historical and cultural impact of Freemasonry in the region.
