The Fort Smith Historical Society presents special guest, Thomas Jacques, Assistant Director, Host of “King Biscuit Time” at Arkansas Heritage and Interim Director at the Delta Cultural Center as he presents a history of the "King Biscuit Flower Hour". The FSHS monthly meeting will take place at the Fort Smith Museum of History beginning at 6:00 p,m on Tuesday, November 18, (doors open at 5:30). "King Biscuit Time" dates to 1941 and is the longest running blues radio program in America. The show is live from KFFA Radio and the Delta Cultural Center in Helena, AR. Jacques will present a program on the history of the radio show--including the much loved Blues musicians that frequented the show over the years. The Fort Smith Historical Society welcomes all to their November meeting at the Fort Smith Museum of History to experience this special musical history presentation.
